Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum, On my drum? Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum Me and my drum.

O Holy Night 06:24
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining; It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth! Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born! O night, O holy night, O night divine! Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming, Here came the wise men from Orient land. The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger, In all our trials born to be our Friend! He knows our need—to our weakness is no stranger. Behold your King; before Him lowly bend! Behold your King; before Him lowly bend! Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His Gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother And in His Name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy Name! Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever! His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim! His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!

Dirt-bike rider in the third degree, find your gift under the Christmas tree! Hang your stocking! It's Christmas Uncle Frank! All the houses in Peoria are dressed in Wintergreen Euphoria! It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! Hear the bells? They're ringing! Ringing! Find yourself some Christmas cheer! Hear the children singing! Singing! Tell the kids that Santa's here! From the Outer Banks to Illinois, presents come to little girls and boys! It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! A star shines brightly over Bethlehem; gifts are brought by all to offer him. It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! Jesus born inside a manger scene, A baby born to rescue everything! It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! Hear the angels singing! Singing! Glory, to the Lord on high! Hear the children singing! Singing! Jesus comes! To save our lives! Long the world was tied to sin and pain. Hope was born again on Christmas Day! It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! Away in a manger, no crib for a bed The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! I love you Lord Jesus, look down from the sky, and stay by my cradle 'til morning is nigh It's Christmas! Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank! Be near me Lord Jesus I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever and love me, I pray. Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there. Hear the angels singing, singing: Glory! To the Lord on high! Hear the children singing, singing: Jesus Comes! To Save our Lives! Long the world was tied to sin and pain Hope was born again on Christmas Day. It's Christmas1 Merry Christmas, Uncle Frank!

The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay tending their sheep, On a cold winter’s night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. They lookèd up and saw a star Shining in the east, beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. And by the light of that same star Three Wise Men came from Orient far; To seek for a King was their intent, And to follow the star wherever it went. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. This star drew nigh to the northwest, Over Bethlehem it took its rest; And there it did both stop and stay, Right over the place where Jesus lay. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. Then did they know assuredly Within that house the King did lie; One entered it them for to see, And found the Babe in poverty. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. Then entered in those Wise Men three, Full reverently upon the knee, And offered there, in His presence, Their gold and myrrh and frankincense. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. Between an ox stall and an ass, This Child truly there He was; For want of clothing they did Him lay All in a manger, among the hay. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. Then let us all with one accord Sing praises to our heavenly Lord; That hath made Heaven and earth of naught, And with His blood mankind hath bought. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel.

about

In the winter of 2005 Matt and some friends recorded some lo-fi Christmas ditties, all in the name of someone named Uncle Frank having a more Merry Christmas.

It feels ancient. It also feels cute as much as it feels embarassing. But it is a warm Christmas memory, and here it is for free, so you have nothing to lose!

(For those of you with old copies, a few master tracks were lost over the years. May they rest in undisrupted peace.)

(The Uncle Frank on the album cover is not the intended Uncle Frank, he is only a result of a Google Image search for Uncle Frank from 2005. We hope he won't mind.)

released December 7, 2005

Matt sang all the male vocals and played, for better or worse, pretty much all the instruments you hear - Jacob A. Bain played and recorded the percussion on Little Drummer Boy while Matt wasn't looking, and this was a very beneficial thing. All the female vocals are Danielle Andre, and it is to her Uncle Frank that we owe the pleasure or displeasure of these recordings.
